Start your adventure with a scenic forty-minute boat ride from the Homer Spit across Kachemak Bay to Kasitsna Bay with Mako's Water Taxi. In addition to the fantastic scenery, we'll look for sea otters, harbor porpoise and maybe a whale on the trip over. |

At Kasitsna Bay you'll meet up with your guide at Across the Bay Tent and
Breakfast. Glide through the morning mists in our sleek, silent, double kayaks, we cater to the inexperienced as
well as intermediate kayakers. |

Our 4 hour kayaking trip will take us into the nearby Herring
Islands. Along the way we may see harbor porpoise, sea otters, eagles,
a seal or two and if the tide is low our magnificent marine invertebrates. On
a clear day we will see the distant volcanoes, Mt. Illiamna and Redoubt
in the Alaska Range. |

We will choose a lunch spot on
one of the secluded islands and if it is sunny a nap on the beach may
be in order. We paddle back to our starting point, Across the Bay Tent
and Breakfast, relax a little and then drive into Seldovia 8 1/2 miles
away. Consider spending a night or two with us here at our T&B. 907-235-3633

After a guided tour you will be on your own to explore
this lovely little town with friendly people until it
is time for you to fly back to Homer with Smokey Bay Air. |

At the Seldovia airport you will board a Cessna 206 airplane for a short flight back to Homer. Enjoy a completely different perspective of the Kachemak Bay. An optional longer flight see on the way back is available which takes you over to the Grewingk glacier. Look for black bear, mountain goats and moose along the way. |
